Campus Security Manager
Reporting to the Director of Material Resources, the Campus Security Manager ensures the smooth operation of the Moncton campus security service by overseeing operations and managing available resources.
As a protection expert, this individual evaluates, develops, advises on, and implements regulations, policies, plans, procedures, and programs to enhance public and institutional security. They also oversee the delivery of supervision, intervention, and coordination services to prevent and mitigate risks in security, health, and environment, aiming to protect individuals, property, reputation, and the environment.
Responsibilities- Develop and oversee programs and services that promote a safe and welcoming environment for the university community.
- Manage and coordinate resources necessary for the protection of individuals, property, and the environment, including building surveillance and access control systems.
- Provide management, supervision, and direction to the Security Service team, as well as budget planning and management.
- Manage and coordinate security actions, encompassing law enforcement, crime prevention, and enforcement of laws, regulations, and university policies.
- Interact with all university community stakeholders and external partners, such as government departments, agencies, first responder services, and the municipality.
- Plan, coordinate, and support the work of agents in emergency situations or with individuals requiring special attention, collaborating with responsible authorities during criminal investigations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain emergency intervention and service continuity plans for emergencies, disasters, or crises.
- Provide management advice and support on prevention and security matters to the community, administrative and academic services, and management.
- Oversee workplace health and safety programs, accident prevention, and hazardous materials management.
- Identify risks and weaknesses that may harm the health, safety, environment, community, university mission, and activities, implementing preventive, corrective, and control measures.
- Evaluate the university's compliance with laws, regulations, and safety policies, developing and implementing policies and procedures.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a safety management system.
- Administer parking programs and enforce related regulations.
- Plan and implement required public safety actions during large events, social disruptions, or others.
- Conduct evaluations, analyses, debriefings, exercises, and activities to recommend continuous improvement measures.
- Perform any other tasks requested within the scope of duties.
