About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Welder - Fabrication Specialist to join our team at Kaymen Steel Inc. As a key member of our fabrication department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of metal fabrication and welding services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and execute welding process specifications to meet customer requirements.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, including arc welding machines, brazing machines, and spot welding machines.
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes to ensure accurate fabrication and welding.
  • Examine welds and ensure they meet industry standards and specifications.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment to cut and shape metal.
  • Fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal to meet customer requirements.
  • Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air) and determine weldability of materials.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting equipment to move heavy metal components.
  • Start up, shut down, adjust, and monitor robotic welding production lines.
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment.
Requirements
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in welding and metal fabrication.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks and physically demanding conditions.
  • Manual dexterity, attention to detail, and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to lift and handle heavy loads (more than 45 kg / 100 lbs).
  • Willingness to travel and relocate for work assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with custom fabrication, auto repair, truck repair, machinery or equipment repair, shipbuilding and repair, pressure vessels, large diameter pipelines, structural construction, factory assembly, cast iron and other metals, ornamental work, fencing, balconies, stairs, and railings.
  • Knowledge of welding techniques, including resistance, spot or seam, oxy-acetylene welding, shielded metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, gas metal arc welding, plasma arc welding, electron beam, fusion welds, stud, thermit, tubular, spool, friction, and multipass welding.
  • Experience with equipment and machinery, including arc welding machines, brazing machines, butt or seam resistance welding machines, gas welding machines, soldering machines, and spot welding machines.
