Job Title: Produce Department Assistant

Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Produce Department Assistant to join our team at Fortinos. As a key member of our produce team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service, ensuring the quality and selection of produce, and achieving maximum sales and profits through creative product displays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service in a courteous and friendly manner to maintain our reputation for excellent customer experience.
  • Assist in the creation of effective planograms to optimize product displays and sales.
  • Assist in the ordering of produce on a daily basis, ensuring timely delivery and accurate inventory management.
  • Receive and inspect produce orders, checking invoices for accuracy.
  • Assist in maintaining effective inventory control and price changes of produce items.
  • Assist in the direction and supervision of staff, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
  • Rotate and stock all tables and counters, ensuring the quality of all produce.
  • Ensure the safety, sanitation, and general maintenance of the department meet company standards.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional customer service skills and a passion for delivering excellent customer experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years' work experience in a retail produce environment, with knowledge of salad bar, bulk, and garden centre operations.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of hours, including days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
