Overview

At KPMG in Canada, we're seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to join our Global Finance team. As a key member of our team, you'll play a critical role in executing operational period-end finance activities and providing analytical support for our GT&K business.

The Opportunity

As a Financial Accountant, you'll report to the Senior Manager-Finance Business Partner and be responsible for:

  • Managing FTE Time Allocations and Report Preparation/Distribution to various business stakeholders.
  • Period-end close journals, accruals, and adjustments for the GT&K function.
  • Recharges for Member Firm and Global Business Units.
  • Resolving Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable issues, with escalation to direct Manager.
  • Providing support to the Global Finance Partner, with ad-hoc projects, controlling, and/or analytical tasks.
  • Utilizing financial systems (BOARD, SAP, COUPA, Commit) for data analysis.
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders on finance matters.
  • Collaborating with offshore controllers to execute financial period-end close activities (AR and AP).
What You Bring to the Role

We're looking for a candidate with approximately 2 years' accounting experience, preferably in a large, multinational, professional services environment. You should have some experience with internal controls, accounting best practices, business analysis, and ERP system optimization. Proficiency in Excel and voluminous data management/handling is also essential. A minimum of an undergraduate degree in business or finance is required, with other comparable accounting qualifications or relevant experience being a plus.
