Position Overview

Steward Helper
Reporting directly to the Chief Steward, the Steward Helper plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Culinary team. Your contributions will significantly enhance the dining experiences we provide.

  • Deliver consistently professional, friendly, and proactive service to guests and colleagues alike.
  • Uphold a safe and clean working environment, adhering to all Health & Safety regulations and ensuring you have the necessary knowledge and tools for safe operations.
  • Maintain compliance with all food safety and hygiene policies, as outlined in the EHC manual, at all times.
  • Accurately complete all EHC temperature records as specified in the EHC manual.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation in all Food & Beverage areas, including staff facilities.
  • Conduct daily cleaning tasks for all back-of-house F&B spaces and equipment.
  • Operate the main dishwashers and restock equipment across all Food and Beverage sections.
  • Follow proper recycling and composting protocols.
  • Assist the Kitchen team with food service as required.
  • Possess a solid understanding of WHMIS.
  • Stay informed about and ensure adherence to sustainability and food waste reduction policies and programs at the hotel.
  • Foster teamwork between Stewarding and other departments, particularly with food and beverage service teams.
  • Exhibit a high level of responsibility and accountability in all tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role within Food and Beverage operations.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada; the hotel cannot assist with work authorization.
  • Strong ability to work with and motivate a diverse workforce.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.
  • Energetic, self-motivated, outgoing, and a team player.
