Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) will utilize the nursing process, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to provide holistic care to individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations across the lifespan. The RN will be responsible for the overall coordination and direction of nursing care, providing clinical leadership in complex or unpredictable patient/client care settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care to achieve resident outcomes
- Provide clinical leadership and support to students and colleagues
- Contribute to the efficient and effective functioning of the Home, coordination of resident care, and staffing
- Maintain and continually enhance competencies through ongoing professional development
- Practice according to the Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses, the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia Standards of Nursing Practice, and the policies and procedures of the Maritime Odd Fellows Home
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current certificate of registration with CRNNS
- Recent long-term care experience preferred
- Experience caring for individuals with dementia an asset
- Current CPR certification
- Demonstrated clinical skills
- Effective communication skills
- Current Criminal Records Check
