Key Responsibilities- Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, ensuring that all dishes meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
- Customer Service: Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, and provide excellent customer service to ensure a positive dining experience.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure that they are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
- Inventory Management: Order supplies and equipment, and maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
- Experience: Experience in a kitchen environment is an asset.
- Language: Fluency in English is required.
- Partnerships: Participate in government or community programs or initiatives that support newcomers and/or refugees.
- Settlement Support: Assist with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees, such as housing, transportation, and childcare.
- Integration Support: Support social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees, including facilitating access to community resources, language training, and skills training.
- Partnerships: Participate in government or community programs or initiatives that support Indigenous people.
- Mentorship: Offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
- Cultural Competency: Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, Indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations, and provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees.
- Partnerships: Participate in government or community programs or initiatives that support members of visible minorities.
- Hiring Practices: Apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities, such as anonymizing the hiring process.
- Mentorship: Offer mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees.
