Position Overview

The Physiotherapy Assistant plays a crucial role in the rehabilitation process, working under the guidance of licensed physiotherapists and occupational therapists to support patients in their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Assessment: Conduct preliminary evaluations to understand patient needs and assist in the development of treatment plans.
  • Therapeutic Support: Implement treatment protocols as directed by physiotherapists, focusing on the rehabilitation of individuals with various physical challenges.
  • Equipment Management: Utilize and maintain therapeutic equipment, ensuring it is properly calibrated and functioning for patient use.
  • Documentation: Accurately record patient progress and treatment outcomes to facilitate ongoing care and adjustments to rehabilitation plans.
  • Administrative Duties: Handle necessary paperwork and maintain organized patient files to support efficient clinic operations.
Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a college or CEGEP program in a relevant field, typically lasting 1 to 2 years.
  • Licensure: Must hold a valid license from a provincial or territorial regulatory body as a Hearing Instrument Practitioner.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, with a minimum of 1 month and up to 7 months of relevant experience.
Work Environment

This is a permanent position requiring a commitment of 37.5 hours per week, with English as the primary language of communication.
