Qualifications- Education: No formal degree, certificate, or diploma required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in carpentry or related fields.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to ascertain project requirements.
- Prepare layouts in compliance with building regulations, utilizing various measuring instruments.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials such as wood, wood substitutes, and lightweight steel.
- Construct foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect wall and roof systems.
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware.
- Coordinate and schedule work on construction sites.
- Provide guidance and instruction to apprentices.
- Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and commercial wooden structures.
- Utilize power tools and hand tools for material cutting.
- Assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and constructing roofs.
- Build timber supports and cribbing as required.
This position involves overseeing the work of other carpenters.
