Overview

The Asphalt Paving Supervisor is a seasonal role responsible for overseeing a paving crew. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to meet set safety, quality, and production benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, prioritizing safety at all times.
  • Direct and manage personnel, machinery, and resources effectively.
  • Perform hazard assessments, conduct tailgate meetings, and maintain all necessary documentation.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, monitor daily job outputs, and manage job coding.
  • Uphold the company's professional image.
  • Train team members and lead by example while delegating tasks appropriately.
  • Adhere to company policies and safety protocols.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of paving methods, procedures, and general construction practices.
  • Order materials and accurately measure quantities based on approved plans.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating heavy construction equipment.
  • Navigate challenging situations and resolve conflicts among team members.
  • Utilize resources and crew members efficiently.
  • Familiarity with Bid2Win, Site-docs, Fleet watcher, and asset management tools.

Qualifications and Attributes

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a foreman in asphalt paving, or over 5 years as a lead hand or sub-foreman.
  • Willingness to work overtime, night shifts, and in various weather conditions.
  • Commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
