About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Bookkeeper to join our team at Brokerunion Insurance Inc. as a key member of our finance department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and other financial documents.
  • Accounting and Bookkeeping: Prepare and reconcile financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Payroll and Benefits: Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll, including deductions and benefits.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports, including statistical, financial, and accounting reports.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit tax returns, including GST/HST and other tax-related documents.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or a related field.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
  • Work Environment: 35 hours per week, permanent position.
