Job Summary:

The Government of the Northwest Territories is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Finance Officer/LHO Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our District Office, you will be responsible for providing professional accounting services and financial support to our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform financial monitoring and analysis to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Provide financial support to six North Slave District Local Housing Organizations (LHOs) and ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.
  • Develop and implement financial plans and strategies to achieve organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and address financial control problems.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards, legislation, and policies to ensure compliance and best practices.

Requirements:

  • University accounting degree or equivalent experience.
  • Professional Education Program (PEP) towards the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation.
  • Four years of experience in a financial, accounting, and/or auditing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
