Job Summary:
The Government of the Northwest Territories is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Finance Officer/LHO Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our District Office, you will be responsible for providing professional accounting services and financial support to our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform financial monitoring and analysis to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Provide financial support to six North Slave District Local Housing Organizations (LHOs) and ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.
- Develop and implement financial plans and strategies to achieve organizational goals.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and address financial control problems.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards, legislation, and policies to ensure compliance and best practices.
Requirements:
- University accounting degree or equivalent experience.
- Professional Education Program (PEP) towards the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation.
- Four years of experience in a financial, accounting, and/or auditing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
