POSITION OVERVIEW

BGIS ITS Canada Ltd., a division of BGIS, is in search of a proficient and knowledgeable Integration Specialist. In this role, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and execution of integrated solutions utilizing the Niagara Tridium platform. Your expertise will be essential in merging various systems, protocols, and devices to establish cohesive and efficient building automation and control systems. If you possess a robust background in creating intelligent and sustainable environments, alongside substantial experience in building automation and programming, this position presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Integration: Design, develop, and implement integrated solutions using the Niagara Tridium framework, incorporating diverse building systems such as HVAC, lighting, security, and energy management.
  • Programming and Configuration: Create custom programming logic and configure system components to fulfill project specifications, ensuring seamless communication among devices, protocols, and systems.
  • Database Management: Develop and oversee databases within the Niagara Tridium platform, ensuring data integrity, security, and efficient storage and retrieval of information.
  • System Troubleshooting: Perform comprehensive testing and troubleshooting of integrated systems to identify and rectify issues, ensuring optimal system performance and functionality.
  • Project Collaboration: Work alongside project teams, including engineers, technicians, and stakeholders, to gather requirements, provide technical insights, and deliver integrated solutions within established timelines and budgets.
  • Documentation: Generate detailed technical documentation, including system design, specifications, programming logic, and user manuals to facilitate effective knowledge transfer and support ongoing maintenance.
  • Stay Updated: Remain informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in the Niagara Tridium platform to identify opportunities for enhancing system performance and expanding service offerings.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years as a system integrator with proven experience working with the Niagara Tridium platform or similar building automation systems. Experience in developing custom programming logic using the Niagara Framework and configuring Niagara components is essential.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of building automation systems, protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks), and IT networking principles. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C# is advantageous.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze complex system requirements, troubleshoot issues, and devise innovative solutions. Strong attention to detail and a systematic approach to problem-solving are crucial.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders. Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical individuals is important.
  • Time Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
  • Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated and independent.

Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or working towards it.
  • Niagara N4/AX certification is considered an asset.
