Fraser Health is seeking a highly skilled 4th Class Power Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of our power plant, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for our patients, residents, families, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain heating boilers, air conditioning systems, water lines, plumbing systems, and sterilizers in accordance with various codes and regulations.
- Perform inspections and repairs of equipment, including hot and cold water lines, waste lines, sewer lines, sumps, and traps.
- Monitor and adjust temperature control systems, and record meter and gauge readings to ensure distribution of air heating to designated areas.
- Perform preventative and demand maintenance on steam and hot water boilers and heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems.
- Clean, check, and lubricate various items of plant and other hospital equipment.
- Change and clean ventilating air filters, fan rooms, and duct work as required.
- Respond to alarms and other emergencies, and report incidents and security problems to the Manager.
- Enforce fire safety and security policies and procedures.
- Maintain records and make log book entries, and carry out tests and calculations.
- Certificate of competency as a 4th Class Power Engineer recognized by the Province of British Columbia.
- Two years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
