Senior Data Engineer

CB Canada is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to lead the delivery of data and analytics platform services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve exceptional results for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and build batch and real-time data pipelines that align with enterprise data governance standards.
  • Develop and propose data models that meet requirements, ensuring optimal access and query patterns, data consumption, and adherence to internal architecture standards.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including data scientists and IT, to refine data requirements and meet data and analytics initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Experience in leading data engineering principles within an organization/team.
  • Knowledge of database modeling techniques, including Data Vaults, Star, Snowflake, and 3NF.
  • Experience working with streaming data architecture and technologies, such as Spark Streaming, Kafka, Flink, and Storm.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational database technologies, including SQL Server, Oracle, Cassandra, MongoDB, CosmosDB, and HBase.
  • Experience with source code and configuration management environments, such as Azure DevOps, Git, Maven, and Nexus.
Assets:
  • Experience within the Azure environment.
  • Strong Scala and Spark experience.
  • Experience modernizing data platforms.
