Job Overview

Publicis Health Toronto is seeking a skilled Medical Editor for a contract position. This role can accommodate remote work arrangements.

The department is responsible for reviewing content that meets the stringent requirements of our clients' medical-legal committees, as well as regulatory bodies such as Health Canada and the FDA. The team collaborates with various departments to ensure that medical information is accurately represented in creative projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside Copy, Creative, and Account Services to develop medically accurate marketing materials.
  • Assess medically relevant, topical, and well-structured content for diverse marketing collateral.
  • Analyze the reliability of sources provided by clients and other agencies.
  • Provide training to Publicis Health staff and freelancers on product research and claim limitations.
  • Educate team members on various disease states.
  • Inform staff and freelancers about clients' regulatory requirements.
  • Review finalized documents to ensure compliance with the client's regulatory approval process.
  • Be ready to defend editorial content during the client's regulatory review sessions.
  • Assist copywriters by sourcing relevant literature.
  • Evaluate and address medical and regulatory feedback from the client's review team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in life sciences, or a degree in regulatory affairs specific to the US/Canada.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical writing or editing.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical marketing formats in the US and Canada.
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical marketing regulations in the US and Canada.
  • Familiarity with medical-legal review processes.
  • Capability to mentor junior staff members.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting medical literature.
  • Ability to effectively search for relevant medical literature.
  • Must be adept at working independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word; familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft PowerPoint is a plus.
