Job Title: Registered Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at the Canadian Mental Health Association - North Bay and District. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to individuals living in the community.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of our clients. You will work collaboratively with our team to provide comprehensive care and support to individuals living with serious and persistent mental illness and/or acquired brain injury and/or addiction.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess and plan nursing care for clients with complex healthcare needs
  • Implement and evaluate nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of clients
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care and support to clients
  • Provide education and support to clients and their families
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance client care
Requirements:
  • Registration with the Ontario College of Nurses (CNO)
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience providing nursing care to individuals living in the community
  • Recent experience working with vulnerable populations, specifically adults living with serious and persistent mental illness and/or acquired brain injury and/or addiction
  • Experience working in a community setting and working knowledge of community resources
  • Basic working knowledge of computer software
  • Ability to work cooperatively and independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in managing challenging behaviors
  • Excellent interpersonal/verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality as per PHIPA
