The Assistant Manager is tasked with enhancing the training materials and financial outcomes of the Ski & Snowboard School and related on-hill programs. This role involves collaboration with departmental Supervisors and Team Leaders to ensure that training content and operational procedures are both feasible for staff and align with safety and service standards. The Assistant Manager will support the Manager in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting business data for budgeting and strategic planning. Additionally, in partnership with the Administration Team, they will oversee the effective and precise execution of scheduling and payroll processes.

SEASONAL CONTRACTS AVAILABLE:

Approximately 5 months of full-time seasonal work.

Approximately 8 months of full-time seasonal work.

COMPENSATION:

$24.80 per hour

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop, implement, and document a thorough training program for the department, including all mandatory training as per regulatory requirements.
  • Establish clear expectations for staff, inspire, coach, and acknowledge exceptional performance while ensuring adherence to new policies and procedures.
  • Oversee product delivery and guarantee quality aligns with departmental and company standards.
  • Assist the Administrator Supervisor in providing daily support for all Snow School and Kids at Blue employees; ensure payroll accuracy and timeliness, support point of sale development, and manage schedules.
  • Manage labor costs by monitoring and recommending scheduling adjustments based on budget and operational needs; assist in daily financial oversight, reporting, and response actions; contribute to operating and capital budget preparation.
  • Coordinate accident and incident procedures, including documentation.
  • Foster and maintain strong, positive working relationships with all departments at Blue Mountain, particularly Guest Services, Rentals, Group Services, and the Contact Centre.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3-5 years of experience in ski and/or snowboard instruction.
  • Certification as CSIA/CASI Level II, III, or IV.
  • Completion of post-secondary education in Commerce/Business or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in people management is required, with preference for leadership experience in the Recreation sector.
