Employment Services Specialist

Georgian College is seeking a highly skilled Employment Services Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our employment services team, you will play a vital role in providing career decision-making, job search support, and skills training/educational planning for community participants, primarily for youth at risk.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess client needs through formal and informal intake processes
- Refer clients to appropriate community and college supports based on client-centered needs
- Collaborate with community partners and funders to build pathways for effective referrals and service delivery
- Facilitate, support, and coach clients in developing an effective return-to-work/school action plan
- Work with local employers to develop work placement opportunities for youth clients
- Develop agreements with employers for on-the-job training and monitoring placements for effectiveness
- Provide support and coaching to clients and employers to ensure client success in retaining employment
- Act as a liaison to community partners, employers, and employer groups to market services through youth-based events and community meetings
- Design, develop, and deliver job search and industry-focused workshops and presentations
- Two-year postsecondary diploma in a relevant field of study
- Minimum of five years' experience in community-based employment or career service delivery
- One-year post-graduate certificate in Human Resources, Career Development Practitioner, or Mental Health – Interprofessional Practice (asset)
- Experience working within employment service delivery or labour market trend analysis
- Computer skills and experience with databases, career planning software, Microsoft Office Suite, and social media
- Ability to take initiative, work independently, and as part of a team to achieve program targets
- Ability to maintain and adhere to confidentiality guidelines
- Ability to travel to off-campus sites as required
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and non-mandatory statutory holidays
