We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at William Osler Health System. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient-centered care to patients admitted to our Functional Enhancement Service.
Key Responsibilities- Provide safe and effective nursing care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Document patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
- Comply with policies and procedures related to patient observations.
- Provide professional and patient-centered care to promote patient safety and well-being.
- Work collaboratively with the inter-professional healthcare team to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with rehabilitation and geriatric patient populations.
- Related experience working with rehabilitation and geriatric patients is required.
- Experience with G-tubes, wound care, IV therapy, and enteral feeding is an asset.
- Functional Independence Measure certification is required within the first six months of employment.
- CNA certifications in gerontological nursing or rehabilitation nursing are preferred.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Sound knowledge of the nursing process, theory, and responsibilities to the nursing profession.
- BCLS certification is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of an inter-professional team.
- Ability to incorporate inter-professional recommendations into patient care practices.
- Knowledge of patient and family-centered care.
- Experience with patient and family health teaching.
- Leadership and facilitation skills.
- Excellent customer service, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Ability to work in a stressful and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize patient care needs and make autonomous decisions.
- Excellent physical assessment skills.
