Youth Support Worker

Directions Youth Services, a division of Family Services of Greater Vancouver, is seeking a Youth Support Worker - After Hours to join our team. As a key member of our After Hours program, you will provide critical support to youth experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness in our 24-hour Directions Youth Services Centre.
Key Responsibilities- Provide intake and assessment services to new clients, including pre-screening and determining their suitability for the program
- Identify individual needs and provide support, encouragement, and education to clients in areas such as crisis intervention, harm reduction, conflict resolution, and community resources
- Employ non-violent crisis prevention and intervention strategies, including first aid and emergency services as needed
- Maintain accurate records and statistics in our online database
- Minimum six months of post-secondary education in a relevant field, such as homelessness, mental health, addictions, and/or social services
- Minimum of two years removed from homelessness, street life, addiction, and/or other relevant life experience
- Lived experience is considered an asset
- Flexible scheduling
- A work culture that values transparency, teamwork, learning, fairness, and integrity
- Competitive hourly rate with a shift premium for overnight hours
