The Division des investissements du CN (CNID) is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as an Investment Analyst, Global Equities. As a key member of our investment team, you will be responsible for conducting fundamental research to identify investment opportunities in the banking industry.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct in-depth research to identify investment opportunities in the banking sector.
- Perform detailed company analysis, including building financial projection models, to evaluate securities owned or under consideration as an investment.
- Establish relationships with senior management of companies within your areas of responsibility.
- Develop investment thesis and present recommendations to the portfolio manager and research team.
- Monitor companies within the portfolio to assess how the investment thesis is playing out and re-evaluate recommendations proactively.
- Minimum of three to five years of relevant experience in investment analysis or a related field.
- University degree in Finance, Engineering, or a related field; graduate studies are an asset.
- Enrollment or completion of the CFA program is an asset.
- Strong understanding of financial markets and products.
- Ability to innovate and move ideas forward with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Strong communication skills with an ability to simplify complex concepts.
- Self-starter with intellectual curiosity and willingness to develop deep expertise in one or multiple areas.
- Quick learner with an eagerness to work in a highly collaborative, cross-asset class team in a high-performing culture.
- Independent thinker with a conceptual thinking aptitude who can work autonomously as well as with a diverse team.
- Excellent analytical skills with an ability to collect, organize, and process a variety of data sets.
- Experience with data visualization with an ability to use graphics and high-quality charts and graphs to present findings in a clear and concise way.
- Flexibility to travel and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual (French and English) is an asset.
