Team Leader - Environment, Health and Safety

HF Sinclair is seeking a proactive Team Leader to enhance our Environment, Health, and Safety Department. In this pivotal role, you will oversee a dedicated team of experts in safety, industrial hygiene, health, and emergency preparedness, while also managing security operations. Our organization prides itself on a robust safety culture, and we are in search of a leader who can further cultivate this environment. Reporting directly to the Manager of Environment, Health and Safety, you will be instrumental in ensuring adherence to safety regulations and promoting ongoing enhancements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guide and mentor a team of professionals in safety, industrial hygiene, health, emergency response, and security
  • Recognize and mitigate complex risk scenarios
  • Design and implement health, safety, industrial hygiene, security, and emergency response initiatives
  • Monitor safety performance indicators and propose improvement strategies
  • Engage in emergency response efforts and conduct incident investigations
  • Remain informed on health, safety, and security legislation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance operational processes
  • Assist in the formulation of EHS budget and strategic planning activities
Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of experience in safety or a related discipline
  • Background in emergency preparedness, industrial hygiene, and security
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and risk evaluation
Educational Background
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Professional Certification in Safety or Industrial Hygiene is preferred
Essential Skills
  • Exceptional analytical and leadership capabilities
  • Proficiency in influencing and persuading stakeholders
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Work Environment

This position entails both field and office responsibilities, with potential exposure to diverse environmental conditions. You may be required to be on call for emergency situations and work extended hours as necessary. Travel may be involved for safety network engagements.
