ROLE SUMMARY

The Canadian Cancer Society Lodges serve as a comforting refuge for individuals undergoing cancer treatment and their caregivers. As a Client Services Coordinator, you will work rotating shifts in our 24-hour facility, ensuring the effective coordination and delivery of lodge services in accordance with established standards and procedures.

Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate the successful implementation of the Lodge program while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for clients, staff, and volunteers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver high-quality service within the Lodge program framework.
  • Assist clients in acclimating to the lodge environment through tours and encouraging participation in on-site activities.
  • Provide referrals to additional support services as needed.
  • Maintain professional boundaries with clients and redirect medical inquiries to appropriate resources.
  • Process payments for room charges and donations.
  • Collect and manage program data using the RDP database.
  • Ensure effective communication with the Lodge Manager and staff regarding program updates.
  • Collaborate with facility staff and vendors to address operational and maintenance needs.
  • Engage in team meetings and training sessions, contributing to discussions on program improvements.
  • Participate in integration activities with other departments as necessary.

ENSURING A SAFE ENVIRONMENT:

  • Implement and uphold standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Exemplify the Society's values through accountability, care, integrity, respect, quality, responsiveness, and teamwork.
  • Adhere to emergency protocols and safety practices to ensure client security.
  • Evaluate lodge admissions based on established policies.
  • Respond to emergencies in accordance with site protocols.

SUPERVISING VOLUNTEERS:

  • Facilitate communication between staff and volunteers.
  • Assist in the training and development of volunteers in line with the Society's engagement framework.
  • Provide daily support and guidance to volunteers, recognizing their contributions and offering constructive feedback.
  • Cover front desk responsibilities during volunteer absences.
  • Promote awareness of Society programs among volunteers and encourage appropriate referrals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with Lodge services and the Canadian Cancer Society's initiatives.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse clients.
  • Proficient in standard office software and equipment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overnight shifts.
  • Organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Relevant educational background and experience in social services, health administration, or hospitality.
  • Experience in volunteer management is an asset.
  • Certification in CPR-C, First Aid, and WHMIS is advantageous.
  • Criminal Record Check is required.
