ROLE SUMMARY:

The IT Security Analyst will report directly to the Cybersecurity Coordinator within the IT Services department. This role is pivotal in overseeing, designing, and maintaining the organization's security frameworks. The analyst will collaborate with the existing team to assess and align technological requirements with the strategic objectives of the organization, recommend infrastructure enhancements, and ensure successful implementation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage in security implementation projects across various educational facilities, including the deployment of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and security information management systems.
  • Contribute to the formulation and execution of security policies and protocols to protect networks and systems from potential threats.
  • Continuously monitor security infrastructures to detect and address potential vulnerabilities.
  • Participate in security audits and compliance evaluations to verify adherence to established security policies.
  • Assess current IT systems to ensure they meet operational needs and recommend necessary upgrades or replacements.
  • Respond to security incidents by investigating breaches, mitigating damage, and implementing preventative measures.
  • Provide exceptional support and service.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is required. The organization may consider candidates with equivalent experience who meet specific criteria.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a comparable role.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Azure, SCCM, Intune, Active Directory, GPO, Office 365, IIS, Microsoft Exchange, and EDR solutions.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting and automation tools.
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies.
  • Strong ability to document processes, standards, and procedures.
  • Solid technical expertise in network security, operating systems, and cloud security.
  • Understanding of security tools, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Availability for on-call duties outside of regular hours as needed.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

ASSETS:

  • Familiarity with Mac OS, Mozaïk, Watchguard firewalls, Aruba equipment, Packetfence, cloud technologies, and security certifications such as CompTIA Security+.
  • Relevant experience within an educational institution or similar environment.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
