About the Role

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Strategic Communications Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies that drive business results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an annual communications calendar to position our brands through content, events, and community engagement activities.
  • Manage activities for a private foundation, including board meetings, managing an engagement activity calendar, and developing materials.
  • Take a lead in planning and executing company events and community initiatives and develop post-event reporting to analyze engagement.
  • Play an active role in the production of an internal company-wide newsletter and coordinate its distribution.
  • Responsible for engagement with the members of our community at large, while monitoring activities to find alignment for support and involvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and Senior Leadership across the organization on various initiatives.
  • Develop engaging and persuasive content for multiple mediums, including social media, website, Public Relations, visuals, films, and articles that effectively tell the story of our brands, values, and which align with our corporate strategy.
  • Manage external and internal vendors, freelance writers, and photographers to create content for various projects.
  • Measure and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies and focus on continuous improvement.
  • Develop monthly and quarterly reports for media monitoring, to analyze engagement metrics and provide recommendations.
  • Cultivate collaborative working relationships with all levels of management, as well as internal and external stakeholders through attendance at corporate and community events.
  • Assist in the development of a digital asset management system and maintain corporate subscriptions and memberships.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Strong copywriting capabilities and both verbal and written presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and social media platforms, and the ability to draft clear and concise messages for various platforms and audiences.
  • Experience in photography and videography would be an asset.
  • Advanced analytical abilities and MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills.
  • Creative mindset with experience in Canva or other graphic design programs would be an asset.
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines, with multiple tasks being managed concurrently.
  • Able to identify solutions and take a collaborative approach to problem solving.
  • Natural relationship builder who thrives in networking opportunities.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is required.
