Position Overview

The role of a Transport Operator involves overseeing the operational aspects of trucking and logistics. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards.

Education Requirements
  • No formal degree, certificate, or diploma is necessary.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor the condition of the vehicle, including inspections of tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage.
  • Conduct brake adjustments as needed.
  • Perform emergency repairs on the roadside.
  • Carry out thorough inspections before, during, and after trips, ensuring all vehicle aspects are in order.
  • Communicate effectively with central dispatch to relay information.
  • Document cargo details, service hours, distance traveled, and fuel usage.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A) is required.
Documentation Skills
  • Proficient in maintaining a driver logbook.
  • Ability to complete inspection reports for pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip evaluations.
Equipment and Transportation
  • Experience with tractor-trailer combinations is essential.
Travel and Transportation Information
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
Weight Handling Capabilities
  • Ability to handle weights up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
