Mortgage Specialist Job Description

Scotiabank is seeking a skilled Mortgage Specialist to join our team. As a Mortgage Specialist, you will be responsible for building strong relationships with clients, referral partners, and community stakeholders to generate mortgage opportunities and referrals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of clients' financial goals and objectives to provide tailored mortgage advice.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to facilitate timely mortgage approvals and closings while adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed about market trends, mortgage products, and industry regulations to provide informed advice and maintain a competitive edge in the market.
  • Utilize excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to build trust and deliver exceptional client service.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to the growth of the mortgage business.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven success in the mortgage industry or a related field.
  • Strong commitment to trust development, client experience, and delivering exceptional service.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a drive to succeed in a commission-based sales environment.
