We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Chemical Engineering student to join our team at Strathcona Refinery in Edmonton, AB. As a Process Engineer, you will work under the guidance of experienced staff engineers to gain a deep understanding of petrochemical refining processes, process safety, process controls, and unit optimization.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, develop, and implement operational and facility improvements focused on safety, reliability, economics, and sustainability.
- Effectively communicate unit operation status, improvement opportunities, and operating costs to various stakeholders.
- Support safe and reliable unit operation through collaboration with operations, reliability, process technical, and automation engineers.
- Currently enrolled in a University Engineering program and returning to full-time studies after the work term.
- Studying to achieve a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering (or related discipline).
- University Engineering student available for a work term beginning in January 2025.
- Demonstrated leadership and strong academic skills.
- Previous industry experience is considered beneficial, but not essential.
- Commitment to safety on and off the job.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required for all roles.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team-based environment.
