Job Title: International Student Adviser

Birmingham International Collegiate of Canada is seeking a highly motivated and experienced International Student Adviser to join our team.

Job Summary:

The International Student Adviser will provide academic and personal support to international students, ensuring their successful transition to Canadian education and life. The successful candidate will work closely with students, faculty, and staff to promote cultural understanding and academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide academic advising and guidance to international students on course selection, academic progress, and career development.
  • Counsel students on personal and social issues, including cultural adjustment, language support, and mental health.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and implement academic and cultural programs for international students.
  • Coordinate the provision of counselling and information services to students, parents, and teachers.
  • Administer and interpret standardized intelligence, aptitude, and interest tests.
  • Refer students to other specialized services when required.
  • Participate in staff meetings, educational conferences, and workshops to stay updated on best practices and industry developments.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 2 years of experience in student counselling or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Fluency in English and one or more of the following languages: Indonesian, Vietnamese, Japanese, Thai, Chinese.
