About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Communications Specialist to join our team at CAAT Pension Plan. As a key member of our Office of the CEO, you will play a critical role in supporting our mission to provide secure, valuable, and sustainable workplace retirement solutions for Canadians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Communications Strategies: Create and execute comprehensive communications plans to engage internal and external stakeholders, promote the value of modern DB pension plans, and advance the strategic vision of our CEO and Plan Manager.
  • Write and Edit Communications Materials: Produce high-quality written and verbal communications, including articles, presentations, key messages, media communiqués, and social media copy, that align with our CEO's voice and messaging.
  • Manage Stakeholder Relationships: Serve as a point of contact for stakeholder relationships managed by the Office of the CEO, working closely with external partners to coordinate Office-led events and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with various departments and external agencies to assist with planning stakeholder engagements and communication and marketing programs.
  • Exercise Judgment and Discretion: Assess business requirements, reputational risks, and communication needs to ensure alignment and consistency of all CEO communications with evolving business priorities.
Requirements
  • 5+ Years of Progressive Strategic Communications Experience: Proven track record of developing and implementing effective communications strategies, preferably supporting senior leadership.
  • Strong Understanding of Executive Communications Fundamentals: Experience in executive communications, senior stakeholder relations, public relations, and strategic communications.
  • Excellent Writing and Editing Skills: Proven ability to produce high-quality written and verbal communications that engage and inform diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong Project Management Skills: Ability to coordinate and deliver on a dynamic calendar of communications priorities, event commitments, speaking engagements, and media activities with exceptional time management.
