Position Overview:
The primary role of the Events and Sponsorship Coordinator is to oversee and implement fundraising initiatives for Special Olympics Manitoba. This position will also explore additional funding opportunities aligned with the organization’s growth strategy. The Coordinator will report directly to the Director of Fund Development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute fundraising events as detailed in the annual Fund Development strategy.
- Manage and balance event budgets, ensuring alignment between forecasts and actual financial outcomes.
- Represent Special Olympics Manitoba on various fundraising committees, contributing to goal setting, execution, and evaluation of events.
- Collaborate with the Fund Development Director to create an annual schedule of fundraising activities.
- Implement sponsorship agreements with event partners.
- Proactively seek new sponsorship opportunities each year.
- Maintain relationships with stakeholders, including sponsors and event collaborators, throughout the year.
- Generate reports to track event performance against strategic objectives.
- Assess potential for additional revenue streams and ensure a cohesive approach to fundraising and donor engagement.
- Stay informed about trends and challenges in philanthropy that may influence fundraising efforts.

- Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and leadership abilities.
- Capacity to work autonomously while being an effective team contributor.
- Proficient in developing and managing financial plans.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong judgment and decision-making capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- At least 5 years of experience in event management and fundraising.
- Experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities is advantageous.
- Able to work within diverse teams, demonstrating respect for all cultures.
- Must possess a valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Must be able to provide a clear criminal background check.
