Principal Engineer for Transmission Lines

West Power Energy is seeking a Senior Electrical Transmission Engineer to enhance our expanding Transmission & Distribution division.
This role offers a hybrid work environment, combining office days with remote work. The ideal candidate will engage in various aspects of transmission line routing and engineering, demonstrating a strong ability to cultivate client relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the design and implementation of transmission lines from 69kV to 500kV.
- Establish design criteria and specifications for transmission line projects and manage material procurement.
- Evaluate project design alternatives and prepare associated cost estimates.
- Ensure that design activities align with specifications, codes, and client expectations.
- Conduct independent reviews of calculations, drawings, and transmission line models utilizing PLS-CADD.
- Serve as the technical lead on projects, adhering to industry codes and standards.
- Act as Engineer of Record, preparing construction documents including plan and profile drawings, structure loading trees, and assembly drawings.
- Provide construction support for high voltage transmission line projects.
- Collaborate with project managers to maintain client engagement through regular updates and project forecasting.
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
- A degree in civil or electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in transmission line design and field construction.
- Professional Engineer Licensure.
- Advanced proficiency in PLS-POLE and PLS-TOWER software.
- Strong knowledge of GO95, NESC, and Wildfire Mitigation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Interpersonal skills to foster effective working relationships with clients and team members.
