Position Overview
Island Health is looking for dedicated family practitioners to join a collaborative team of healthcare professionals. This role involves delivering comprehensive care to patients in a community-focused environment.
Role Responsibilities
The selected family practitioner will work within a multi-disciplinary team that includes Nurse Practitioners, fellow Family Practitioners, medical office assistants, registered nurses, social workers, and behavioral health consultants. The practitioner will provide both in-clinic and community-based care as required.
After-Hours Coverage
The family practitioner will be part of an after-hours call group, ensuring that patient care is continuous and reliable.
Compensation and Benefits
Eligible candidates may receive additional compensation under the Rural Subsidy Agreement (RSA), which may include:
- Retention Premium of 4.2%
- Retention Flat Fee of $6,800
- Pro-rated Recruitment Incentive of $10,000
- Relocation Cost Reimbursement up to $15,000
- Continuing Medical Education (CME) funds: $2,000 per annum for years 3 & 4, and $4,000 per annum thereafter
Note: These amounts are subject to change.
