Sample Machinist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sample Machinist to join our technical team at Bravissimo. As a Sample Machinist, you will play a crucial role in producing high-quality technical lingerie, swimwear, and integral support samples in a variety of fabrics on industrial machinery.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce finished sample garments to a high-quality standard with a good knowledge of production methods across multiple products.
• Follow patterns and written instructions to accurately prepare and hand cut rigid and stretch fabrics, laces, and embroideries for the purpose of making buying and fitting samples.
• Assist the technical team with product development, suggesting ideas for finishing techniques and optimal garment construction for production.
• Liaise with the technical team to ensure all products are developed in line with required specifications, recording and feeding back any alterations required to design, pattern, or finished measurement chart before styles go into production.
• Maintain exceptional quality and attention to detail, ensuring samples you produce measure to spec and offer excellent fit, quality, and performance.
• Work efficiently on multiple products and manage your own time within a fast-paced environment.
• With the other sample machinists, manage the general housekeeping and fabric and trim stocks within the sample room.
• Support with the repairing of stock garments as and when required.

About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about sewing and loves to problem-solve. You will have an excellent eye for detail and be able to interpret, follow, and understand written instructions, diagrams, and measurement specs to produce consistently accurate samples.

As part of a busy team, some of whom work remotely for part of the week, you will need to be an organized, motivated, and hardworking team player with excellent communication skills, able to give and receive feedback effectively and build strong working relationships.

Experience of working in a technical or sewing environment would be advantageous, but we will consider taking on a trainee or junior level machinist.
