Job Summary

The Manitoba Government is seeking a highly skilled Design and Drafting Technician to join our team in the Capital Region. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and designs for various infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate and detailed technical drawings and designs for infrastructure projects
  • Collaborate with regional project teams to ensure project objectives are met
  • Apply department standards, policies, and procedures to ensure high-quality designs
  • Work independently and cooperatively with team members to achieve project goals
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams as needed

Requirements

  • Completion of a Civil Technologist Diploma, or Civil Technician Certificate, or completion of Department's Level 3 training program, or a suitable combination of education and experience
  • Directly related computer-aided design and drafting software experience
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to analyze incomplete or conflicting data and make decisions or recommend alternative solutions
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications

  • Directly related preliminary and roadway and/or drain construction survey experience
  • Knowledge of department design and drafting standards, practices, and policies
  • Knowledge of Occupational, Safety, Health & Risk Management policies and procedures
