About the Role

Sorenson Communications is seeking highly skilled Sign Language Interpreters to join our team in providing exceptional Video Relay Service (VRS) to the Deaf and hard of hearing community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Effectively interpret between American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Maintain compliance with national, state, or local licensure and/or certification requirements.
  • Adhere to Sorenson policies and procedures, the CASLI Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Professional Conduct, or the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct.
  • Demonstrate full compliance with Sorenson Communications attendance policy.
  • Accurately complete assigned tasks, projects, and paperwork promptly and within approved guidelines.
  • Work effectively in a team environment, receiving support from and providing support to colleagues.
  • Enhance interpreting skills through continued education and training.
Requirements
  • Ability to pass our required skills assessment.
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • An associate's or bachelor's degree (preferred, but not required).
  • Interpreter certification.
  • Years of experience working as an interpreter (preferred, but not required).
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, highly regulated environment.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, tools, and to handle other computer components.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Active membership in good standing with CASLI.
