The Atlantic Pilotage Authority is seeking experienced mariners to establish our Marine Pilot Eligibility List in the compulsory district of Cape Breton, NS.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide proof of Canadian Citizenship or Canadian Permanent Residence Status;
  • Hold a valid Transport Canada Certificate of Competency (Minimum: Master, Near Coastal);
  • Hold a valid Transport Canada ROC-MC or GOC;
  • Hold a valid Transport Canada Seafarers medical;
  • Meet the qualifying sea time requirements as per APA Regulations - Section 14 Experience at Sea;
  • Provide two written references from a superintendent/supervisor;
  • Participate in Familiarization Program in lieu of local sea time.
