Job Summary

Big League Transport Inc is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Truck Driver to join our team. As a Heavy Haulage Specialist, you will be responsible for operating and driving straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and Drive Trucks: Safely operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Plan Routes: Plan and adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, GPS, and other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
  • Load and Unload Goods: Load and unload goods safely and efficiently, ensuring that all cargo is properly secured and protected.
  • Perform Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and that all safety standards are met.
  • Maintain Vehicle Condition: Regularly inspect and maintain the condition of vehicles, including tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment.
  • Communicate with Dispatch: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, ensuring that all communication is clear and concise.
  • Record and Report: Record and report all cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption accurately and efficiently.
Requirements
  • Certifications and Licenses: Possess a valid Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi-trailer trucks) and a valid driver's license.
  • Experience and Skills: Have at least 5 years of experience in the transportation industry, with a strong understanding of logistics and transportation principles.
  • Physical and Mental Demands: Be able to lift and move heavy loads, work in a fast-paced environment, and maintain a high level of physical and mental stamina.
