We are seeking a qualified French teacher to join our team at the Waterloo Catholic District School Board.

About the Role

This is a permanent position for an Elementary Core French Teacher. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching French to students in grades K-8.

Responsibilities

  • Teach French language and culture to students in grades K-8
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver curriculum
  • Communicate with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress

Requirements

  • Qualified Ontario College of Teacher (OCT) Educators in Good Standing
  • New Faculty of Education Graduate from 2023 and awaiting OCT Number
  • New Faculty of Education Graduate graduating in 2024
  • Internationally Trained educators with Ontario College of Teacher accreditation or in progress of working through the accreditation process
  • Working knowledge of the Ontario Catholic Graduate Expectations, Ethical Standards for the Teaching Profession, and the Standards of Practice for the Teaching Profession
  • Proficient knowledge & understanding of Ontario curriculum, evaluation & assessment techniques
  • Current in understanding of research, integrating technology and best instructional practices
  • Effective classroom management skills and ability to create a welcoming and safe Catholic learning environment for all students
