Job Summary

Woodbusters Flooring Ltd. is seeking a skilled Hardwood Floor Installer to join our team. As a key member of our installation crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered with hardwood flooring.
  • Measure, cut, and fasten underlay and underpadding to ensure a smooth installation process.
  • Measure, cut, and install resilient floor coverings, including hardwood floors.
  • Prepare and install hardwood floors, including sanding, trimming, and grinding.
  • Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings to maintain the integrity of the installation.
  • Prepare floors for installations by removing existing floor coverings and contaminants.
  • Smooth gouges with wood filler and sand wood to achieve a seamless finish.
  • Smooth rough edges using belt sanders or smoothing wheels.
  • Sand, trim, grind, or clean products into final form using hand tools.
  • File, grind, and sand body surfaces to be repaired.
  • Vacuum floors to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products.
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license and own transportation.
  • Steel-toed safety boots and other necessary personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to distinguish between colors and maintain hand-eye coordination.
  • Physically demanding work environment, including handling heavy loads and bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Efficient interpersonal skills, judgment, and organizational abilities.
  • Team player with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in hardwood floor installation and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of power tools and equipment, including circular saws.
  • Wood finishing specialization, including staining and polishing.
  • Security and safety certifications, including criminal record checks and driver's license checks.
