Position Overview
The Licensed Practical Nurse will:
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to conduct assessments, develop care plans, implement, and deliver personal and nursing care to clients, including but not limited to wound management, intravenous therapy, catheter care, and pleurex drain management.
- Administer medications via oral, subcutaneous, and intramuscular routes in accordance with established pharmaceutical guidelines and organizational protocols.
- Operate within the competency guidelines and full scope of practice as defined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), adhering to organizational policies, procedures, and unit-specific protocols.
This is a CASUAL POSITION. Casual employment means that hours are not guaranteed and may vary, with shifts potentially scheduled on short notice. Casual staff are eligible to apply for internal postings, including both permanent and temporary roles. Many career paths within the Interior Health Authority begin with casual positions and can lead to regular employment.
Work shifts will primarily be scheduled during the day, from 08:00 to 16:00 hours.
