About the Role
Canadian Blood Services is seeking a Regular Part-time Laboratory Production Technician to join our dynamic Supply Chain Operations West Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilizing your laboratory expertise, you will be responsible for receiving, evaluating, and processing whole blood, apheresis platelets, and plasma into the required blood components.
- With your knowledge of blood component production, you will assist the laboratory manager in developing and assessing procedures.
- Employing your strong organizational skills, you will maintain accurate documentation and records related to inventory in compliance with operational procedures and work instructions.
- Demonstrating your proactive approach, you will perform routine maintenance of equipment and work areas to ensure the safety and quality of blood products.
Desired Qualifications and Skills
- Completion of Grade 12 plus a Laboratory Assistant Certificate and one year of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to interact effectively with others.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical capability to perform the duties of the position.
- Ability to prioritize workload and function effectively under pressure.
- Proficiency in operating related equipment.
