Job Title: Business Systems Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst to join our team at the Corporation of the City of Thunder Bay. As a Business Systems Analyst, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing information systems business solutions that meet the needs of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Confer with clients to identify requirements and document technical requirements to ensure that products, processes, and solutions meet business requirements.
  • Prepare cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to support system implementation and provide advice on information systems strategy, policy, management, and service delivery.
  • Design, develop, and implement information systems business solutions, including assessing physical and technical security risks to data, software, and hardware.
  • Develop policies, procedures, and contingency plans to minimize the effects of security breaches and conduct reviews to assess quality assurance practices, software products, and information systems.
  • Resolve conflict situations, conduct usability testing, and operate automatic or other testing equipment to ensure product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations, conduct surveys, and prepare reports.
  • Develop software solutions by studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes.
Requirements:
  • 5 years or more of experience in information technology, computer science, or computer software engineering.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work in a hybrid environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to conduct surveys, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with government regulations.
