The Nursing Supervisor plays a crucial role in the healthcare team, serving as a professional role model and mentor. This position is essential for guiding nursing staff through clinical expertise and ongoing professional development.
Key Responsibilities- Establishes optimal staffing levels to ensure efficient patient care delivery.
- Provides leadership and direction to nursing staff, ensuring adherence to professional nursing standards and organizational policies.
- Conducts supervisory visits to evaluate care quality, offering constructive feedback and mentoring to nursing personnel.
- Participates in the recruitment and onboarding processes for new nursing staff.
- Oversees performance management, including conducting performance evaluations and implementing progressive discipline when necessary.
- Completes comprehensive case reviews to ensure appropriate care frequency and nursing capacity.
- Engages collaboratively with patients and the nursing team to build trust and effectively identify healthcare needs and goals.
- Active registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario, with a degree preferred.
- Possession of a valid G driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a community healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of community nursing principles and patient service delivery.
- Current CPR certification is required.
