About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Continental Design & Building Inc. as a Construction Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in the construction of buildings, from preparation of estimates to the final installation of finishes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimation and Planning
    • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects.
    • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements.
  • Construction and Installation
    • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
    • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
    • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
  • Quality Control and Safety
    • Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
    • Identify and report any potential safety hazards or quality control issues.
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and clients to ensure project requirements are met.
    • Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve project goals.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
    • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in the trade.
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment
    • Physically demanding work environment.
    • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Client-focused and reliable.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
