Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Cost Estimator to join our team at Indianhead Contracting Inc. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in estimating costs for mechanical construction projects across various sectors.

Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 to 2 years in a related field or equivalent experience
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed estimates for labor and material costs
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ascertain project requirements
  • Compile master format estimates (Class A)
  • Generate elemental format estimates (Classes B, C, D)
  • Calculate estimates for general expenses and overheads
  • Prepare and present estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms
  • Implement quantity take-off procedures
  • Provide guidance on tendering processes
  • Maintain a directory of suppliers and trade contractors
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors regarding cost estimate modifications
