Job Title: Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Fisheries and Oceans Canada. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining a wide variety of infrastructure that supports various programs geared towards providing sustainable fisheries and aquaculture, safe waterways, and the protection of Canada's oceans and aquatic systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain infrastructure assets and facilities
  • Provide technical oversight and engineering support for operations, maintenance, replacement, and installation of assets and infrastructure
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize project needs and develop project plans
  • Lead and coordinate project teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Develop and implement project management plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation
Requirements:
  • Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, aeronautical engineering, geological engineering, naval architecture, or a related field
  • Experience in an engineering office environment completing the review or design of drawings, specifications, or studies
  • Registration as an Engineer-In-Training with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of the province of British Columbia
  • Experience in engineering field work, life cycle management, and project management

The Real Property Safety and Security group within Fisheries and Oceans Canada is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires strong communication and collaboration skills. As a Project Engineer, you will work closely with stakeholders to identify and prioritize project needs and develop project plans. You will also be responsible for leading and coordinating project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
