Position Overview: We are seeking a qualified candidate for the role of IT Engineer/IT Technologist.

Location: Hybrid work model (2 days remote)

Job Summary:

This role involves providing support for projects related to a centralized telecommunications system. The system is designed to integrate various technologies, including advanced server configurations and interfaces with modern communication platforms. It serves numerous locations and is essential for operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will be engaged in a variety of tasks, including:

  • Collaborating with teams and vendors to gather requirements and create design documentation.
  • Communicating with regional IT staff to clarify installation needs for remote locations.
  • Conducting site assessments to identify prerequisites for system migrations.
  • Identifying necessary materials for installations and facilitating their procurement.
  • Developing test plans and reports for hardware and software systems, ensuring successful integration and commissioning.
  • Providing on-site support for installation, testing, and system migration.

Required Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering or a Diploma in Technology.
  • Experience in hardware, software, and systems testing.
  • Proven track record in systems integration.
  • Hands-on experience with installation and commissioning.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance for sensitive sites and travel as needed.
  • Familiarity with hardware selection, including networking components.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and a collaborative team player.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Experience in telecommunications systems or network architecture is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and experience in generating stations is a plus.
  • Experience working with labor unions is beneficial.
