Position Overview:
The Senior Project Manager role is essential in overseeing the design, development, and execution of projects within the Westinghouse Parts Business. This position will focus on mechanical initiatives in the Candu Nuclear Market, managing projects ranging from $50k to $15M. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to handle complex, multifaceted projects, lead diverse teams, and maintain oversight of progress and milestones independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire project lifecycle from inception to completion, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure. Establish project goals and assign project managers to ensure successful delivery.
- Develop comprehensive project plans that define scope, staffing, and financial resources, while ensuring adherence to timelines and milestones.
- Balance competing project constraints such as scope, quality, schedule, budget, resources, and risks. Continuously enhance project management practices by integrating lessons learned and implementing corrective actions.
- Align expectations among stakeholders, including teams, customers, and suppliers, to achieve project objectives. Effectively communicate interdependencies and requirements while addressing risks and resolving conflicts.
- Act as the primary liaison for customers and internal teams, ensuring clarity on contract requirements and changes. Collaborate with various project groups to integrate objectives and actions.
- Conclude projects by archiving relevant documentation and conducting final quality assessments. Identify opportunities for improvement and communicate insights for future initiatives.
- Continuously seek and implement improvements to optimize project performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or college diploma in a relevant field such as Project Management, Engineering, Business, or Construction Management.
- 3 to 6 years of project management experience, with a background in technical or engineering roles considered.
- Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, or instrumentation and control components in nuclear power settings.
- PMP certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies (PMBOK) and tools such as MS Project or Primavera is advantageous.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal; additional languages are a plus.
